Prof. K.V. Thomas Vidyadhanam Trust is a charitable organisation that ensures equitable outcomes for underprivileged children through education promotional activities. The Trust provides financial incentive and scholarship to bright students from government and aided schools, in addition to encouraging cultivation of life skills, such as thrift and financial inclusion. It began as a collective charity movement 12 years back and has now grown with diversified charity projects such as Vidyadhanam, Vidyaposhanam-Poshakasamrudham, Vijnanaveedhi, Vidyalekshmi, Ambilikku oru veedu & Meet the Great Achievers . Our mission, to ensure that all children not only attend but also succeed in school, is being accomplished through the collective collaboration of these projects. Prof. K.V. Thomas MP serves as the Managing Trustee, while other eminent personalities like Adv. N.N. Sugunapalan, Adv. K.L. Joseph, Mr. M.A. Chandrasekharan and Mr. Biju Thomas are its Trustees.
What we do
Every day the Vidyaposhanam-Poshakasamrudham project nurtures around 40,000 students from 140 schools with nutritious mid-day meals. The project lays the foundation for future generations to grow and thrive, by reducing malnutrition and promoting physical development.
Students of government/aided schools in the Ernakulam Parliamentary Constituency are discovering a new world of possibilities today; thanks to the Vidyadhanam Project initiated in acheter cialis en ligne association with the State Bank of India. The Vidyalakshmi project aims to provide scholarship for ten meritorious students to pursue their higher education. The project focuses on providing scholarship to Under-graduate and Post-graduate students and those pursuing their Professional courses.
Ambilikku Oru Veedu
A noble initiative by Prof. K V Thomas Vidyadhanam Trust, Ambilikku Oru Veedu is a dream come true for Ambili, a 20-year-old student of DB College, Thalayolaparambu, Ernakulam. In a shocking incident, Ambili sustained injuries on her shoulders, elbow and palms when she was hacked by her neighbour for spurning his proposal. She is currently undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital. Prof. K V Thomas visited Ambily in hospital and promised to help her realise her dream of a new home. This is a brand new beginning of a housing project by the Vidyadhanam Trust. As part of this project, the Trust had constructed a house for actress Molly Chellanam. The project aims to build affordable homes for the underprivileged and low-income families, giving them a decent place to live in.
Swasraya Arogya Mission
Swasraya Arogya Mission, a medi-claim scheme is launched with the support of the New India Assurance company. Ensuring complete health protection to the disabled and their dependants is the key objective of the scheme. Each family avail an Insurance amount of Rs. 2 lacs for the treatment in their specific hospitals. The trust has planned to insure 2 lakh underprivileged people this year.
Another notable initiative by the trust, Meet the Great Achievers inspires and enlightens students by offering them an opportunity to interact with men and women of eminence. By setting up an interactive space and facilitating dialogue, these meets provide a chance for the children to mould their life for definitive success.
N.N. Sathyavrathan Memorial Award
The award, launched to commemorate the veteran journalist N.N.
